Designing a gym for a new-build villa for a discerning property developer who wants all the flexibility and functionality without giving up aesthetics.
The Brief
A property developer requested a functional, stylish home gym for a new villa build, supporting cardio and strength training while remaining spacious. The client enjoys chest presses using 8-12 kg weights, while his wife, a yoga enthusiast, wants to begin strength training with lighter weights. They are also keen to start learning boxing.
The family of four has young children who won't use the gym for at least five years, so safety is a priority. No weights accessible to the children and durable equipment were key factors.
They prefer equipment that does not require plugging in or wall mounting, as they may repurpose the room in the future.
The Proposal
